I would just like to add something to this
discussion, even if this is a bit of a stretch to what has
been said. I believe someone felt that using the term
ass, might be offensive to Ms Scott, and although I
don't share this opinion I respect the concern that
this person felt. However, I do feel that it is better
to error on the side of complementary than to be
offensive, because you never know what impact your words
might have on someone.
I would like to quote
myself, (fore I don't know if anyone has ever said the
same thing and I am writing a book which has this
statement in it.) "sticks and stones will break my bones,
but words may kill me." I realize that this may seem
incongruous with what has always been thought before. But if
you knew what it is like to be in my shoes you would
know what I say is all too true. I hope that my book
will be published so that people looking in from the
outside might have a glimpse of what it's like to be
bipolar, or as I like to say, I have a brain
dysfunction.
